RO: Să-ncepem cu începutul: cum ai ajuns să te ocupi de acest tur și care a fost cea mai mare provocare de când ți-ai asumat acest rol?
Că să începem cu începutul, trebuie să mergem puțin mai înainte de început. Sunt o avidă admiratoare a creativității, talentului, frumosului, exprimate într-un mod alternativ, care să sfideze granițele conformismului, tradiționalului. Îmi captează atenția și îmi întrețin interesul lucrurile presărate cu puțin de „altfel”, cum îmi place să spun.
Pe parcursul timpului, având oportunitatea să vizitez varii țări, am început să descopăr această lume nouă, a artei urbane stradale, care m-a fermecat și captivat încă din primele momente. Încet-încet, am început să hoinăresc pe străzile frumosului nostru București și să descopăr aceste minunate opere de artă și pe artiștii care le semnau, să caut să învăț despre ei și să promovez această cultură emergentă, care în ultimii ani a reușit să transforme invariabil fața Bucureștiului.
Și așa a început conversația cu Dragoș, care inițial mi-a lansat invitații de participare la fainele evenimente organizate sub egida #SăFițiCuminți; pe parcursul timpului s-a conturat ideea unui astfel de tur, și ulterior am avut bucuria să primesc propunerea de-l a conduce.
Din punct de vedere al provocărilor, pot spune că sunt și ceva emoții când sunt alături de participanții la tur și le povestesc despre opere, artiști, locații; puțin de lucru la managementul timpului și activităților premergătoare organizării turului, dar cea mai mare aș spune că este dorința de a ajunge la cât mai mulți oameni și a le transmite din bucuria cu care eu privesc această nouă lume, în continuă dezvoltare.
EN: Let’s start with the beginning: how did you end up taking care of this tour and what was the biggest challenge since you took on this role?
To start with the beginning, we’ll have to take it back to the moment it actually begun. I am an avid admirer of creativity, talent, beauty, expressed in an alternative way, defying the boundaries of conformity, those of the "traditional". Things that are sprinkled with a little ”different”, as I like to say, keep me enthralled.
Over time, having the opportunity to visit various countries, I began to discover this new world of urban street art, which charmed and captivated me from the first moments. Little by little, I began to wander around the streets of our beautiful Bucharest and discover these wonderful works of art and the artists who made them, seeking to learn about them and to promote this emerging culture, which in recent years has invariably managed to transform the face of Bucharest.
And thus began the conversation with Dragoș, who sent me invitations to take part in the cool events organized under the auspice of #SăFițiCuminți; over time, the idea of such a tour took shape, and later I had the joy of receiving the proposal to lead it.
In regards to the challenges, I can say I am a tad bit nervous while being with the tour participants and telling them about works, artists, places; a little bit of work on time management and the activities preceding the organization of the tour, but the biggest thing I would say is the desire to reach as many people as possible and convey to them the joy with which I look at this new, constantly flourishing, world.
RO: Ce altceva face Andreea, când nu e ghid? 😊
Andreea, când nu e ghid, este voluntar alături de Asociația Română pentru Nou-născuții Îndelung Spitalizați (ARNIS) și de inițiativele Our Big Day Out, organizate de Asociația Sister. În restul timpului, lucrez alături de o frumoasă echipă în cadrul unei corporații.
În timpul liber, mă bucur de compania celor două mâțe ale mele, ce sunt și ele puțin „altfel”: motănelul Grey este orb, iar pisicuța Luna are doar trei lăbuțe. Pe lângă asta, îmi place să călătoresc, să citesc, să-mi dezvolt abilitățile de a face fotografii și, evident, să mă bucur de viață!
EN: What else is Andreea doing, when she's not giving tours? 😊
When Andreea’s not working as a guide, she works as a volunteer in Romanian Association of Long Hospitalised Newborns - ARNIS and with the Our Big Day Out initiatives, organized by Asociația Sister. The rest of the time, I work alongside a beautiful team within a corporation.
In my free time, I enjoy the company of my two cats, being a little "different" themselves: Grey, my tomcat, is blind, and the kitten Luna has only three paws. Besides that, I take delight in traveling, reading, developing my photography skills and, of course, enjoying life!
RO: Sunt sigură că, de când se desfășoară toată treaba, mulți au avut parte de revelații legate de propriul oraș și, cel mai probabil, au și reușit să-și dea răspuns la unele întrebări legate de arta stradală, acesta fiind tocmai unul dintre scopurile unui astfel de tur. Sunt curioasă, însă, care a fost pentru tine cea mai mare descoperire de până acum?
Sunt în București de prin 2004, însă cred că nu am privit orașul la adevărata să valoare decât ani mai târziu. Descoperirea acestei fascinante lumi, a artei stradale urbane, pe lângă cea a artiștilor din spatele graffitiurilor sau a muralelor și bucuria pe care o am de fiecare dată când descopăr o nouă lucrare sau revăd una deja creată, m-au învățat să descopăr frumosul pe care Bucureștiul îl conține.
Am învățat să privesc orașul pentru ceea ce este: o frumoasă creatură în continuă transformare și dezvoltare, cu diverse valențe, ce ne îmbrățișează pe toți cu bucurie, fiind casă pentru multe minți talentațe și creative, care merită explorată și promovată. Post lockdown, am înțeles câte are de oferit Bucureștiul nostru drag, unde de mică mi-a dorit să trăiesc.
Aceasta este, cu certitudine, cea mai mare descoperire a mea - Bucureștiul.
EN: I'm sure that, ever since the whole thing with the tour has been going on, many have had revelations about their own city and, most likely, have also managed to find the answers to some questions about street art, which is precisely one of the main purposes of such a tour. I'm curious though, what has been your biggest discovery so far?
I've been in Bucharest since 2004, but I think I didn't see the city for its true value until years later. Discovering this fascinating world, urban street art, in addition to the artists behind graffiti or murals, and the joy I have every time I discover a new work or revisit one already made, has taught me to discover the beauty that Bucharest contains.
I learned to see the city for what it is: a beautiful creature constantly transforming and developing, with various cultural blends, which embraces us all with joy; a home to many talented and creative minds, which deserve to be promoted. Post lockdown, I finally understood how much our dear Bucharest has to offer, a place where I wanted to live ever since I was little.
This is definitely my biggest discovery - Bucharest.
RO: Cum e treaba cu traseul: există unul standard sau se customizează de la caz la caz? Mă gândesc că miza permanentă este cea de a-i menține pe oameni angajați în conversație și atenți, ceea ce (mai ales după pandemie) e din ce în ce mai dificil de realizat, nivelul general de atenție scăzând considerabil. Ce variabile sunt luate în calcul, atunci când e stabilit traseul?
Amprenta traseului, gândit împreună cu Dragoș, este aceeași pentru fiecare ediție. Traseul este concentrat pe zonele centrale ale capitalei.
Acesta îmbină două lumi, cumva diametral opuse: artă urbană stradală și frumoasele străzi ce păstrează amprenta Bucureștiului de odinioară prin arhitectura caselor, istoria și semnificația cartierelor pe care le parcurgem. Două lumi ce există într-o simbioză pe care o admir și despre care cred cu tărie că nu se exclud reciproc.
Prin păstrarea acestui tipar de traseu, ne-am dorit ca toți participanții la tur să aibă acess la aceleași informații și posibilitatea de a cunoaște artiștii care semnează operele pe care le vedem pe tot parcursul turului.
EN: What about the route: is there a standard one or is it customized on a case-by-case basis? I believe that the ongoing stake is to keep people engaged in the conversation and paying attention, which (especially in the post-pandemic context) is increasingly difficult to achieve, with overall attention levels dropping considerably. What variables are taken into account when the route is established?
The imprint of the route, designed together with Dragoș, is the same for each edition. The route is focused on the central areas of the city.
It is the blend of two worlds, somewhat diametrically opposed: urban street art and the beautiful streets that preserve the imprint of the "once upon a time" Bucharest, through the architecture of its houses, the history and historical significance of the neighborhoods we pass through. Two worlds existing in a symbiosis that I admire and that I firmly believe are not mutually exclusive. By keeping this route pattern, we wanted all tour participants to have access to the same information and the opportunity to meet the artists who have signed the works we see throughout the tour.
RO: În final, care ar fi 3 lucruri esențiale pe care un viitor participant la tur ar trebui să le aibă cu el, pentru a se bucura de experiență la maximum? 😊
